Just because I'm losing
Doesn't mean I'm lost
Doesn't mean I'll stop
Doesn't mean I'm across
Just because I'm hurting
Doesn't mean I'm hurt
Doesn't mean I didn't get what I deserve
No better and no worse
I just got lost
Every river that I tried to cross
Every door I ever tried was locked
Oh and I'm just waiting 'til the shine wears off
You might be a big fish in a little pond
Doesn't mean you've won
Cause along may come a bigger one
And you'll be lost every river that you tried to cross
Every gun you've ever held went off
Oh and I'm just waiting til the firing's stopped
Oh and I'm just waiting til the shine wears off
Now's not the time for me to get really emotional. Believe me, today's a pretty big day! I just got accepted in the minor track I want (Broadcast Journalism) and I just aced my final production (Radio DJ). Yay! It really is a Friday to remember. But this song just magnificently describes how I feel/felt/am feeling. It's wonderful how Chris Martin was able to represent the realities and supposed realizations in life with such simplicity yet such depth. Or better, in 3.5 minutes.
There are days when I'm plain... mundane. There are days when I'm lazier than a koala. And there are days when I'm unstoppable; raging productive, like a workaholic. And lately, before I even had the interview and before owning my final prod, I haven't been myself: I've been procrastinating like nobody's business, and I've been fully relaxed while everybody's panicking. It's to the extent that I questioned myself why I'm acting the way I am and to the extent that some people are starting to doubt me, my abilities and what I could offer. (I figured it was probably because I was way too stressed when school started 'til my talk show production.) It's funny how today I proved my self wrong! It's funny how I proved everyone wrong! As I quote,
"I just got lost...I'm just waiting 'til the shine wears off."
But now I'm back. I had my break. Now I'm going to finish this semester with sheer hard work and a smile.
